Small business weekend

This weekend, I'm so happy to say that Hubby and I supported small businesses, especially local ones. I know that Saturday was branded Small Business Saturday by Amex, but I turned it into a 4-day weekend experience. Visited the Ferry Building in SF on Friday. Ground zero for shopping local. I picked up locally-made chocolates and soaps, and Heath pottery as gifts.

And yes, we ended up getting these Heath house numbers for ourselves too:

With the teak rail system:Some info on the tiles:Hubby mounted them next to the front door by the doorbell. Such a warm welcome for any guest.

Went to the Reading Bug in San Carlos - a local, fabulous childrens' book store for more gifts:
They have this huge fabulous space in back for parties. Thinking that when Crazy Baby and her friends are avid readers, this would be a perfect space for a b-day party:

Tonight I branched out by shopping my favorite brands. I started by online shopping with Textile Arts. Got my parents Marimekko pot holders in the Unikko pattern because my Mom uses hand towels to remove pots from the oven. Planning to shop at Crate and Barrel next. Not exactly small business - but at least it's not Walmart.

Have a good week!
