Holiday posts: the beginning

Getting ready (already) for the holidays. Started my Christmas shopping today! Went to a lovely local childrens' bookstore (will have a post about this store) and found some lovely presents including some new books for the girls and a lovely pen set for Crazy baby.

Just wanted to show you some letterpress gifttags that I found (and bought) off etsy.com from springolive:

Aren't they lovely? Can't wait to use them.

Also, I was able to find some more of the vintage ornament glass balls on wires for my tiny tree and our front door wreath (which definitely needs more bling):
I spent some time on the wreath today - but I'm planning to add more to it tomorrow. Earlier in the year, Hubby had spray-painted some pinecones gold and they are just sitting on a shelf in the garage. I think I'll add those too. Pictures soon.

And every year I find more ornaments for my tiny tree. The girls helped me decorate the tiny tree - which basically means that all the lower branches get overloaded with ornaments. It's pretty funny. However, I placed on the vintage wired balls myself (little ones should not play with glass wired balls). Over the years, I have found them in several different colors: silver, hot pink, ice blue, and now, gold. I rearranged the ornaments, afixed the wired balls and placed a gold bow on top. Then, I placed the tree by the fireplace and adorned the fireplace with personalized stockings. When the girls saw the finished tiny tree and stockings, they gasped. The little one shrieked. I swear I have never seen such a reception in my whole life. Utter glee. It was the sweetest thing.

More pictures soon!
