Craft table follow-up

I promised to keep you guys in the loop and post a pic when Hubby hung a lamp above Crazy baby's craft/homework table (yes, she's only 4 and is already getting homework).

I think he did a lovely job. Good choice on the lamp as well (he chose it). At first I was taken aback with the lamp, thinking, wow - that sure is red. But, then I realized how many other objects were the same shade of red in the room and that it all coordinated very nicely.

The lamp came with a cord that was too short (intended for ceiling mounting). So, Hubby had to wire it with a new cord, so that he could swag it and plug it directly into an outlet. Thank you Hubby!

Other updates:

- Hubby and I thoroughly cleaned/reorganized the pantry. Ugh - things were getting old in there. We had out-of-date baby formula (Sweet Baby hasn't taken formula in a long while) next to stale Saltines. Rancid nuts. Chocolate that was 7 years old. Need I say more? It's amazing how bad things can get when you don't stay on top of things. I used to walk in to the pantry and feel stressed out. Now I feel calm when I enter...

- Hubby and I went through our file cabinet and recycled/shredded a ton of paper. Literally about half of what we were storing was tossed.

- We got a carpet for underneath the dining room table. It's IKEA. It's very low pile (almost sisal-like) and brown with a darker brown border. It's a very unassuming carpet. Blends right in - but adds some much needed warmth to the room (and cuts down on the noise). I'll take a pic when I have good light.

- We had a family photo session with my good friend Annie. We do this once a year typically around Crazy baby's b-day in August. But, things got crazy this year and we did it much later. Just hoping to get the images back in time to make a Christmas card.

- Went to a consignment shop today and found two adorable (and rather fancy) holiday dresses for the girls. I would never have have paid full price for these, so it was really nice to find them so marked down. And, it's a form of recycling too!

Have a great weekend!
